Fulfilment options: post, pickup or service
Choose how you get items to buyers — Post only, Pickup only, Post or pickup, or Service — set a business default and override it per item.
Fulfilment is how you get a purchase to the buyer. LocalFor.Me has four options, set once as a business-wide default and then overridable on any individual item.
The four options
- Post only — you post the item to the buyer; collection isn't offered.
- Pickup only — the buyer collects from you; you don't post.
- Post or pickup — the buyer chooses either. This is the default for new businesses.
- Service — for work that isn't shipped or collected at all (e.g. a plumber, a tutor, an event). Use this for service listings.
Set your business default
Your business has a default fulfilment setting that applies to every item unless you say otherwise. New businesses start on Post or pickup. You can change the default from your business settings; every item that's set to inherit will follow it automatically.
Override fulfilment on a single item
Most merchants leave items on the default, but you can override any one item:
- Open the item in the editor from your Items list.
- Find the Fulfilment field.
- Leave it on Use business default to inherit, or pick one of Post only, Pickup only, Post or pickup or Service for this item only.
- Save.
Tip: Leaving the field on Use business default is usually best — if you later change your business-wide default, those items move with it. Only override when a specific item genuinely differs (for example, a heavy item you can't post).
What shoppers see
The item detail page shows the resolved fulfilment: your per-item choice if you set one, otherwise your business default. So a buyer always sees exactly how they'll receive that particular item — posted, collected, either, or delivered as a service — with no guesswork on their part.
